Frequently Asked Questions
The operating doctrine of the Oakshore network. Platform mandate, fee architecture, security protocols, and the mechanics of curated deal flow.
01
General & Platform.
Oakshore is a curated, sector-agnostic, cross-border private network that operates at the intersection of ambitious founders and high-stakes capital allocation.
We replace cold outreach with high-conviction deal flow, utilizing AI to auto-generate institutional-grade Deal Memos — providing infrastructure that enables founders and allocators to engage directly.
Fundraising and deal sourcing are fundamentally broken. Founders waste months on cold emails, while investors drown in unvetted, unstructured pitch decks. Oakshore was built to fix the signal-to-noise ratio in private markets by standardizing how early-stage diligence is presented and consumed.
No. Oakshore is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology platform. We are not a registered broker-dealer, investment adviser, crowdfunding portal, escrow agent, or financial institution in any jurisdiction.
We provide secure infrastructure for verified founders and investors to engage directly. We do not negotiate terms on behalf of either party, recommend specific investments, or take a percentage-based commission on capital raised or invested.
All transactions are strictly bilateral agreements between the transacting counterparties. Oakshore is not a party to, nor a guarantor of, any such agreement.
No. At no point does Oakshore hold, route, custody, pool, transmit, or manage investment capital. All capital flows occur directly between the transacting counterparties, outside the Platform, through their own banking relationships.
The Capital Call feature on the Platform facilitates the exchange of wire transfer instructions between counterparties as a communication convenience. Oakshore does not initiate, process, verify, or guarantee any wire transfer.
If you're reading this, congratulations! You will be part of our Open Beta cohort, where access to Oakshore is completely free.
The Open Beta cohort concludes on November 30th, 2026, 23:59:59 UTC. Existing users will receive at least 30 days' advance notice of the post-Beta pricing structure.
0% success fees! Unlike traditional investment bankers or brokers, we do not take a percentage of the capital raised. This ensures founders keep their equity.
Oakshore charges flat platform fees that are not linked to the outcome, size, or success of any transaction. We are infrastructure, not an intermediary. Our incentive is the integrity of the network itself — not the outcome of any single deal.
Yes. Security and confidentiality are our foundational pillars. Deal rooms are strictly gated, and all users (both founders and investors) must pass rigorous KYC/AML identity verification before gaining access to the live network.
All materials are encrypted in transit and at rest. Deal rooms are permissioned at the individual level, with full audit trails on every document view and download.
Your intellectual property remains yours. Oakshore claims no rights over submitted materials, and access can be revoked by the owner at any time. Counterparties are bound by the confidentiality obligations set out in our Terms of Service before any memo is disclosed.
The Platform provides access to standardized legal instrument templates sourced from their original publishers, including Y Combinator (SAFE, MFN), the Angel Capital Association, the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), and others.
All templates are provided in their original published form without modification. Oakshore does not recommend, endorse, or advise on the selection of any particular legal instrument, deal structure, or valuation methodology. You should consult qualified legal counsel before executing any agreement.
Oakshore's Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. In the event of a dispute, the parties will first attempt to resolve the matter through mediation administered by the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC).
If mediation does not resolve the dispute within sixty (60) days, either party may submit the matter to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Singapore.
You may terminate your account at any time through the Trust Center. Upon deletion, your profile data is removed within 30 days.
Certain data is retained for legal compliance: KYC verification documents are retained for 5 years post-closure (per anti-money laundering standards), and Deal Room records are retained for 7 years (per Singapore's limitation period for contractual claims). Full details are available in our Privacy Policy.
02
For Startups.
Any legitimate, registered business can access Oakshore's infrastructure to manage their fundraising process. We are strictly sector-agnostic and welcome a wide variety of companies, provided they pass our standard business verification and onboarding protocols.
Instead of relying solely on a pitch deck, our proprietary AI Analyst conducts a standardized diligence interview with you. It structures your financials, market size, and business moat into an institutional-grade memo, allowing allocators to make faster, higher-conviction decisions.
The AI Deal Memo is a data structuring tool — it does not make investment recommendations or provide financial advice. All investment decisions remain with the investors themselves.
No. Oakshore is a secure, curated network. Your raise is never indexed by public search engines or visible to the general internet.
Furthermore, you have granular control over which investor archetypes can view your secure deal room. Every disclosure is a deliberate, logged act.
03
For Investors.
Access is limited to verified entities and accredited individuals. This includes accredited angel investors, family offices, venture capital firms, and institutional syndicates. Proof of accreditation and KYC verification is mandatory during onboarding.
Both sides of the network are verified before access is granted. Allocators are screened for mandate authenticity and capital capacity. Verification is not a one-time gate — standing on the network is continuously maintained through activity and conduct review.
During onboarding, you define your thesis — exact check sizes, stage preferences, and industry focus. The Platform surfaces relevant listings based on the criteria you set.
You can always use our advanced filters to manually search and explore all companies listed across different countries and industries. Each opportunity that reaches your desk has passed structural verification and carries a standardized, institutional-grade Deal Memo. You review signal, not noise.
Absolutely. Oakshore is designed to facilitate cross-border capital flow. The network natively supports syndication. Lead allocators can extend a live deal room to vetted co-investors within the network, with permissioned access to the underlying memo and data room.
All syndicate participants must independently complete their own KYC verification and execute bilateral agreements separately. All parties operate from the same verified source material, eliminating the diligence fragmentation typical of informal syndicates.
